Our 2016 Scholar Athlete Awards were a big success! Over 180 student athletes were recognized for their hard work in the classroom and on the soccer field in 2015.
Players received a certificate for earning a 3.0 GPA or higher while playing soccer with our club during the fall season of 2015. Each player received a certificate, t-shirt and a chocolate bar and enjoyed refreshments at the event.
Mayor Clarkson was one of the guest speakers for the evening and was honored to be invited to our event. Omar Cervantes, our Director of Coaching & Player Development, presented both Morgan Taylor (99G team) and Anna Marie Agron (99G White team) with $500 scholarships from the club. The players were selected from a pool of applicants in 12th grade who submitted an application, an essay and a letter of recommendation to be considered for the scholarship.
Congratulations to all of our scholar athletes!
We're proud of your hard work and your success in school and soccer.
San Ramon Soccer acknowledged our scholar athletes at an event held on March 4 at our facility. We recognized over 150 outstanding student athletes in grades six through twelve. All those recognized played with SRS in the fall of 2014 and received a 3.0 or higher on their first semester report card.
Guest speakers included San Ramon mayor Bill Clarkson and California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA) Commissioner Donna Kerger. Both Mayor Clarkson and Ms. Kerger spoke warmly about the players' achievement in the classroom and on the soccer field; a challenging feat that requires dedication and hard work.
Two graduating seniors, Megan A. Cheung and Matthew W. Siu, were also awarded $500 scholarships from San Ramon Soccer. To be considered for the scholarship, these two scholar athletes had to submit an application with their report card, an essay and a letter of recommendation.
Congratulations to all the Scholar Athletes!
