Each year over 2,000 kids play soccer with San Ramon FC.  In addition to teaching young men and women how to be successful on the field, San Ramon FC believes that soccer is an excellent vehicle to teach children the value of character and community.  We believe in the value of sport and the positive impacts that it can have on our kids and our community.

With that in mind, the club is very excited to bring you the SRFC Foundation.  As the charitable arm of San Ramon FC, the SRFC Foundation will be responsible for providing resources both to our members and our community and ensuring that we are able to better fulfill our mission of developing players, character, and community through soccer. 

The foundation will aim to fund three main initiatives through donations and events throughout the year.  Currently, San Ramon FC gives out over $40,000 in financial aid and support to our membership. The goal of the foundation will be to significantly increase the amount of support we are able to provide for the upcoming season, as well as raise enough capital to establish a self-funding budget through an endowment over the next 5-10 years.

The SRFC Foundation will support the following three initiatives:

Financial Aid

While the vast majority of families are able to afford the cost of playing soccer, there are many who need a little help to ensure that their kids can participate. Each year SRFC gives out around $40,000 in scholarship and financial aid, and each year we are forced to turn families away who are in need because our funds run out. The foundation’s goal will be to increase the financial aid budget to $60,000 for the 2021/22 season.

Academic Scholarships

Each year San Ramon FC gives out two college scholarships to graduating seniors in our club. We know that college is an important step in the development of our players as young men and women and the club would like to do more to support this for our membership. The foundation’s goal will be to increase the amount of scholarship money San Ramon FC gives out as well as provide multi-year scholarships for deserving graduating seniors.

International Travel Support

San Ramon FC believes that international travel is a core part of the development of a person.  Getting outside of your comfort zone and experiencing other cultures helps us understand our world as well as our community better. This is why the club strives to build international trips into the club calendar and curriculum. While the club know this is a vital part of what it does, it also recognizes the high cost of these trips. It will be the club's goal to fund one-third of an international trip for each member of the club.

The studies are clear, participation in sports helps kids do better in school and in life. It teaches kids the value of an active lifestyle, how to overcome adversity as well as the value of teamwork. San Ramon FC believes in the value of sport and the positive impacts that it can have on our kids and our community. San Ramon FC also believes that the club can take a more active role in helping our children have access and resources on their journey to becoming good citizens.
