Advice for high school age players

High School Seniors:

Hopefully, at this point, you have completed your four-year school applications. If you are still in the recruiting process and have not applied, make sure you are communicating with the coach and know when the deadline is to apply as a student-athlete. There is a variance for most schools for applying.

If you have completed all your applications are waiting for acceptance notices from schools, make sure have double-checked that each school has everything they need. Here is a link with more information: What To Do While Waiting for Admission Decisions

High School Juniors:

At the end of your school’s semester or trimester, request an unofficial transcript from your high counselor to have ready when a college coach asks for your academic information. If you have taken a real SAT and or ACT, have this downloaded into a PDF file as well. When reaching out to college coaches, have a copy of your resume, transcript, and test scores, in one PDF file. If you have not taken a standardized test, then just include the first two documents.

High School Freshmen and Sophomores:

At the end of your school’s semester or trimester, request an unofficial transcript from your high counselor so you know what your cumulative GPA is. Cumulative GPA is what colleges use in the application process.
