New Health & Safety Protocols for Returning to Play

San Ramon FC's players and coaching staff returned to on-field training in mid-June, after the city of San Ramon permitted organizations back onto the field.  Players in the club's NPL Academy attended the voluntary training sessions at Central Park.  The club has implemented mandatory health and safety protocols aimed at meeting or exceeding the COVID-19 health and safety directives from the city, county, and state organizations.

The health and safety of our club's players, coaches, staff, and their families are our number one priority. Temperature checks, hand sanitizers, social distancing, and no contact activities were implemented. Coaches and staff wore masks and everyone adhered to social distancing. Families were provided instructions on how and when to arrive at the training to minimize crowds and maintain social distancing.

In addition to enjoying some much-needed soccer fun and exercise, these voluntary training sessions give San Ramon FC's staff an opportunity to assess the new health and safety return-to-play protocols.  These protocols will be followed by all club programs - recreational, competitive, camps, and clinics - when players return to the field in the months ahead.

The club has identified four phases of returning to play on the field; each with its own set of rules and activities based on current health and safety directives from city, county, and state organizations.  The NPL players are currently training in "Phase 2", which includes sharing soccer balls and no contact activities.

To read about all four phases identified in our return-to-the-field planning,  please view our "Return To Play" document for the latest information.
