Welcome to the 2020 Season

By SRFC Board of Directors, 07/07/20, 12:00PM PDT

Looking forward to a great youth soccer season

On behalf of the San Ramon FC Board, we would like to welcome you to the 2020-21 soccer season. As we gear up for the Fall, all of us at the club are excited about getting back out on the field. Thank you very much for your patience, understanding, and support as we have had to work through this period of uncertainty. We realize that this has been an incredible adjustment. We also sincerely hope you are healthy and safe.

The Board and staff are working together to determine how best the club can continue to serve our membership during these difficult times. Everyone involved is anxious and motivated to get back on the field once it is deemed safe to do so. Our coaches have missed the inspiration and energy your athletes bring to the game and to life.

Like you, our number one concern is player safety. We are working with the City of San Ramon and following county guidelines to assure the safety of the players, the coaches, and volunteers. As we resume, further precautions and best practices will be adopted to ensure everyone’s safety; see our Covid-19 Return to Play FAQ.

As a non-profit, community club, we take pride in our representation of San Ramon. We pride ourselves on promoting exemplary sportsmanship and ethics. We hope you feel this same pride when you see our teams on the field.

Current events have shed light on the tragic social injustices and inequalities that still exist across our nation. Our club supports these conversations, and we want to reassert our commitment to fairness and equality.  San Ramon FC strives to nurture a sense of inclusiveness and integrity. We advocate for the dignity and respect of every individual.

You have our pledge to continue to embrace the diversity of our community. We welcome your feedback and support in helping us maintain this commitment.

San Ramon FC’s mission is to develop the whole athlete. In addition to a player’s soccer skills, we have 11 Pillars that we feel are foundational to developing a strong character. Each month we highlight one of these characters and emphasize its importance.

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with these 11 Pillars

We are committed to making this an excellent year for the players. To achieve this, we will need your help.

We ask that you:

Be Safe - Follow CDC guidelines to minimize risk (helpful video).

Take Care of the Fields and Equipment - We work hard to keep our costs down, and taking care of the fields and equipment helps us to reach that goal. If your team has the last game of the day, please put the equipment away.  If you see an issue, let us know so we can address it.

Respect The Officials - Please do not criticize the officials if you feel they have made a mistake. Abuse is one of the reasons fewer officials are officiating now. If you feel strongly about an issue, talk with your coach.

Be Positive - SRFC is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA). We provide training for all our coaches, parents, and players. We want everyone to have a positive experience on both sides of the ball.

Express Gratitude - Thank your coaches and officials. They are here for the love of the game. They invest a lot of time and effort into being the best they can be for your son or daughter. Please be on time to drop off and pick up your players.

Get to Know Each Other – We have wonderful families in this club. Take the time to get to know your fellow teammates and their families. Get to know the coaches, the staff, and the Board. And cheer on your children like crazy. We are stronger as a community.

Show Patience and Forgiveness - We all make mistakes. Know that if we do, it was not intentional. We are sorry. And more importantly, let us know so we can fix it.

Spread the Good News – We all love a great story. If you have a great experience, let us know so we can spread the word.

Lastly, we want to thank you for being a member of our club. The Board and the staff do not take your decision to be a member of SRFC lightly. We do all we can to make sure the families and the players have a great experience. We are hoping you come back next year and maybe bring some friends with you.

Have a great soccer year, and let us know where we can help!
