The San Ramon FC Scholar Athlete Award recognizes players in the club who have achieved success as a student-athlete during the fall season.  San Ramon FC strives to honor the achievements of the players in the club, both on the field and in the classroom.  Education and athletics are terrific combination for helping youth to learn and develop the skills and knowledge required to succeed. Balancing school work and soccer commitments requires discipline and responsibility. 

For the fall of 2021, all players in 6th-11th grades are eligible to apply for San Ramon FC Scholar Athlete Award if:

• They played on a San Ramon FC team in the fall of 2021 
• And received a 3.5 or higher on their first semester report card
• The deadline to apply for the award is February 25, 2022 at 11:30 pm  

12th Grade students (Seniors) will have the opportunity to:

• Apply for Scholar Athlete Award only
• Apply for both the award and one of two $500 scholarships  
• The deadline to apply for the award and scholarship is February 25, 2022 at 11:30 pm  

The club will host an in-person awards ceremony on Tuesday, March 22 to celebrate the players achievements.

You will only receive a printed Scholar Athlete Certificate, magnet and T shirt if your player attends Scholar Athlete night on March 22nd. We will only have certificates, magnets and T shirts available at the event. If you reply YES that you will attend and can't make the live event we will have volunteers at the event for an extra 30 minutes after the live event between 7:45p-8:15p. You can pick up your T shirt, magnet and certificate then or have someone pick it up for you. If you choose NO on the RSVP we will not create a certificate and order a shirt for you but will recognize you in our brochure.

Starting in 2022, San Ramon FC has chosen to re-name its annual senior scholarship award after Robert “Bob” Loney. The Bob Loney Memorial Student-Athlete Scholarship honors a man who was both a soccer parent, with three children who have played at San Ramon FC, and a retiring teacher in our community. In previous years, Bob has served on the San Ramon FC Board of Directors and also volunteered as a youth soccer coach for our club.

Whether from volunteering his time at San Ramon FC or as a member of the Windermere Ranch Middle School faculty, Mr. Loney made a tremendous impact on the youth in San Ramon. This scholarship award honors Bob and continues his legacy by giving to students in the club and our community.
